Tunbridge Wells Youth Tournament @ The Ridgewaye - Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June 2024

We would love it if your team could join us this summer for our 20th annual tournament. The tournament will be officially sanctioned by the Kent FA. We are looking to cover age groups from U7 to U15 boys/mixed And U9 to U14 Girls.

U7 and U8 will play 5 a side and all other age groups will be 6 a side, the maximum squad size for all ages will be 10 (except U7 which will be 9). Under 7s  will play a ‘friendly’ tournament in accordance with the FA guidelines re competitive football. All players in the friendly competitions will receive a memento. In the other age groups, we shall be playing an initial League phase, followed by a Knockout Tournament for a Cup & a Shield, giving these age groups four chances to gain a winners or runners up medal. Sadly Academy and Coach School sides are not allowed to enter this years tournament.

The closing date for entries is 14th April.

The initial closing date is 14th April. The Tournament Committee will assign places based on a number of criteria including date of receipt of entry, past support of the event & a desire to encourage new teams too. Confirmation of successful applicants will be sent by 21st April 2024. Please do not assume your entry has been successful until receiving notification. We will be happy to receive email enquires from early April if you want to gauge the state of play if you have not already heard from us.. Multiple entries are welcome & will be satisfied, space permitting.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE

Boys/Mixed

Under 7s:-
The 16 teams will then be split into two groups of 8, this age will be non-competitive and teams can have a
squad size of 9 players All players in this age group will receive a memento on the day. This will be 5 a side

Under 8s to Under 16s:-
The 16 teams will then be split into two groups of 8 with qualification to the knockout stages of the competition
being offered to the top 4 teams from each group. QF, SF and F will then be played. Teams can have a squad
size of 10 players. This will be 6 a side.

Girls/Ladies

Under 8s to Under 16s:-
There will be one group of 8 teams who will play each team once with qualification to the knockout stages of
the competition being offered to the top 4 teams from the group. SF and F will then be played. Teams can
have a squad size of 10 players. This will be 6 a side.

ACADEMIES/COACHING SCHOOLS

We will NOT be accepting coaching schools or academies in this year’s competition.

CAR PARKING

There will be parking on site at the playing fields but please where possible walk or car share to reduce
the number of cars at the tournament. It will be £4 per programme which payable on entry to the car
park. Please ensure you follow all signs and stewards on the day to assist with a smooth transition from
the morning/afternoon sessions.
